Scottish Hip Hop Bursary 2026
Sunny Govan Community Radio, in partnership with up2stndrd and 644 Studios, is proud to announce the return of the Scottish Hip Hop Bursary for 2026.
Grants of up to £1500 are available to support Hip Hop artists, creatives and culture-builders across Scotland.
The bursary is open to individuals, creative practitioners and collectives working in Hip Hop culture. This includes rap / MCing, DJing, music production, breaking and street dance, graffiti and street art, beatboxing, spoken word, film, photography, theatre, literature, fashion, digital media and other Hip Hop-related creative practice.
The fund can support small-scale creative projects, professional development, new ideas, collaborations and the people helping build Hip Hop culture in Scotland from the ground up.
We are particularly keen to support artists and creatives who are under-represented, who have had limited access to public funding, or who are helping to grow Hip Hop culture in Scotland.
The bursary can support activity such as recording or releasing new music, buying equipment that helps develop your practice, creating a film or visual project, developing a performance or event, collaborating with other artists, attending training or mentoring, or testing a new idea that could lead to future work.
Previous Scottish Hip Hop Bursary recipients can apply again, but they must not apply for the same project. Applicants should clearly explain how the new bursary would support their next stage of development.
Successful applicants will also have the opportunity to access a one-hour mentoring session with one of the partner organisations.
Applications are now open and close on Monday 15 June 2026.
