57 North's parent organisation shmu has been awarded funding from the Scottish Government's Youth Music Initiative, which is administered by Creative Scotland, for 'Transform', a project which will see the continuation of the use of music as a medium in the transformative journeys of young people moving through the organisation.

The Youth Media and shmuTRAIN employability projects will use these music-making opportunities to help enrich progression pathways on to further and higher education and other career options, while music in the Discover One-to-One and Engage strands will help provide meaningful activity & stability to young people who need it the most.

The project will run until March 2024.
