Jobs: Musician Vacancies with Music in Hospitals & Care
From Music in Hospitals & Care:
Music in Hospitals & Care is a charity that improves the health and wellbeing of children and adults through the healing power of live music.
Every year, our professional musicians share live music with people across the UK who may not otherwise get to experience it. This includes those living with dementia, mental health problems, or who are seriously ill.
We work in hospitals, care homes, hospice and community settings, and our musicians offer so much more than playing music. They also spend time getting to know the people they’ll share their music with, chatting with them and finding out about how the music made them feel or the memories it sparked.
We are looking for professional musicians, with an interest in sharing live music in hospital and care settings, in Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire.
We welcome musicians of any genre, from classical to pop and rock, traditional folk to world music.
We offer live music work in local areas, aiming to minimise travel distances, and we currently pay fixed hourly rates of £68.13 for soloists or £60.18 for each member of a duo or trio, plus travel expenses (reviewed annually).
Our audition process is flexible, with a combination of online and in-person elements.
And our induction process includes shadowing experienced musicians in your local area and recognised safeguarding training. We also offer opportunities to develop your skills and experience in different health and care settings, as you gain confidence.
