Amplify - Record and produce vocal & beats at shmu!

This project is open to young people aged 14-17 residing in Woodside, Tillydrone, Middlefield, Northfield, Torry, Cummings Park, Mastrick and Seaton.

Supported by experienced music tutors and Youth Work staff, you'll work as a group to create, record and produce two songs for broadcast and/or performance.

Rap, lyrics, beats and instruments can all be used - and you'll get help with lyric writing and song structure. The tracks will be about what matters to you and your future, and you'll also learn about recording, production and the software used to bring everything together!

Some previous music experience would be great - but not essential, all we ask is that you have an interest in music making and recording/production. All sessions are free of charge and will include snacks/fruit/drinks. The sessions also aim to develop confidence, social interaction and interpersonal skills.

Where: Station House Media Unit, Station Road, Woodside, Aberdeen, AB24 2WB.

When: Tuesday 27 October 2026, 5pm-6.30pm (runs for 8 weeks)
