Aberdeen bar & music venue to be run by worker cooperative
Wednesday 18th July 2018
Aberdeen bar & music venue Krakatoa has changed hands, and will now be run by a not-for-profit worker cooperative 'The Black Cat Worker Collective'.
The collective's website outlines that "there are only a handful of worker cooperatives in and around Aberdeen, fewer still that are non-hierarchical, and we’re the only one that’s also a not-for-profit. We’re living rocking proof that it’s possible to change the nature of employment, and operate a business primarily for the common good."
They also state that "we don’t profit from your custom, but grassroots music does".
There's much, much more on The Black Cat Worker Collective website.
