• 11pm to 12pm - Bell Lungs Live performance
A mesmeric voice pours into your ears, atop mellotron violin, fingerpicked guitar, omnichord drones, bowed chimes, field recordings & glitchy electronics. Drawing on psychedelic, free improvisation and folk influences, Bell Lungs creates transcendental atmospherically shifting soundscapes interspersed with snippets of songs, musing upon rural idylls, post-industrial heartlands and online dating.

Silent Chaos are an experimental A/V project founded in Rome, IT, in 2016. Their music nourishes of non-linear time, of conceptual and performing circularity: ancient and futuristic sounds advance in a spiral-shaped way. Their sound is structured but not predictable, in an impromptu composition based on channeling through improvisation. Past, present, and future times mash up in ancient sonorities and electronic twistings. They have released their debut album "Micro" through Eclectic Productions in 2017 and were featured in four international compilations; the second album "Osclltr 012" was released in 2018 through Berlin label Osclltr Records. Silent Chaos have sonorised various art exhibitions, acted in theatrical and radio performances, and have performed, with their audiovisual show, at the Italian contemporary art museum MAAM and in various other venues between Italy and UK.
bell lungs weaves layered vocal harmonies, electric violin, omnichord, guitar, field recordings and instrumental loops together into a psychedelic, post-folk soundscape that draws on natural cycles, environmental disaster and the microcosmic aspects of relationships. Live performances sometimes involve visuals and movement, and Bell Lungs is known for being an endearingly natural performer who creates immersive sound environments that transport listeners to other planets. David Keenan of The Wire deemed Bell Lungs’ vocals “elemental”, and Rave Child said she had “a truly remarkable voice, like cut quartz”. She is known for collaborating with poets, scientists, kinetic sculptures, artists, dancers, film and theatre-makers, and has performed in the UK, USA, Spain, Germany, Sweden and Italy, in venues common and uncommon, including art galleries, transport museums, double-decker buses, ancient ruins, 12th century churches, a disused grain silo, Tudor houses, a Napoloeonic fort and a hydroelectric power station.
She will gonna do a workshop in the afternoon (2-4pm) at D2 as well, check it out! https://www.facebook.com/events/1079497355571153/
Public Execution is an Aberdeen based power electronics group started in 2018 by Oliver Walsh and Tom Martin. Using laptops and synthesisers less as music intruments than as pure noise-making devices the duo revels in high volumes and abrasive frequencies, elusive and volatile and any potential answers vanish into a dense flood of ideas and concepts.
